Deactivate seat belt chime

Dear all,

Did anyone deactivate the above? Does it affect the airbag?
I de activate mine as its very noisy.... but got some feed back that the airbag will not deploy if the seat belt chime is deactivate and the seat belt is not connected.
Advise anyone?

It's noisy cos some1 didn't buckle up hence the solution is to buckle up. Smile

since u bot an Opel, thot u shld appreciate the safety aspects of safe and responsible driving...

but if u seriously want a soln, u can jus snip off the male part of the belt, plug in permanently and viola! prob solved. Wink

i thought you could just unplug the connector from the bottom of the seat?

As a driver, seat belt does increase your odds of survival in a serious accident. But imagine the example you are setting to your passengers, especially younger kids or children.

For passengers, no having a seat belt on, it is almost a sure death in serious accidents.

Just belt up.

i live to tell my real-life experience, saved by belting up.

trust me, buckle or not, the warning is damn noisy...i usually prefer to drive out then put on belt, but the noise drove me crazy just take off only...that was when i am taking the carmy...

luckily my vectra dont have this noise, lol....

I think Opel's seatbelt warning system is quite reasonable already.
It allows you to speed up to around 25km/h (which is the speed at which you can have a more serious accident) before sounding the warning.

The BMW 3-series gives the irritating chime the moment you start the car! How #$%^*&@ is that?
